Ladies Motorcycle Helmets
Ladies motorcycle helmets
are a growing segment in the biker accessories market. As more women learn to ride,
get their own bikes, and hit the road bike clubs for women have sprung up everywhere and women are
knowledgable, educated riders - far moreso than many of the guys we know.
Their consumer demands are also beginning to be met by manufacturers
and retailers, especially online. Its no coincidence that several manufacturers are building lighter bikes
with lower seat heights. Helmet sizes are changing too. You no longer have to buy a kid's helmet just to get
the necessary protection and a good fit, and the choice of styles and graphics seems to grow daily.
You can find DOT certified ladies helmets
in just about every helmet type including full face helmets, three quarter and half
shell helmets. All the major manufactuers are in the game including Bell, Shoei, Daytona and HJC.
Many online retailers
provide a sizing chart that allows you to pick the right helmet size from each manufacturer. Given the vast
selection and excellent pricing available online, sizing charts cover the very last base. This is a fantastic
way to make sure you get a safe and comfortable helmet that you actually like and at the best possible
price. You have to take a tape measure to your
head but trust me, it's definitely worth it to make sure that the helmet you get is one that fits right, remains
comfortable and doesn't promote neck fatigue.
Now I have to warn you, this process goes a lot easier if you can get
someone to help you with it. I've tried doing it myself in the past when buying helmets online and getting an
accurate reading through a mirror is a bit harder than it may seem before you actually try it. Also, you seem
to get more consistent measurements when you are standing still and upright with your arms down at your side.
The proper way to measure is to wrap the measuring tape around your
head at about one half inch above the eyebrows. Pull the tape comfortably tight so that you get an accurate
reading. It is probably best to measure a few times so that you confirm you get the same result each time. If
your measurements vary, it is best to use the largest of your results
Use your measurement to find the right size helmet in the model you've
chosen. If you find you are between helmet sizes, it is always best to choose the next largest size, rather
than stepping down a size. Going up to the closest larger size shouldn't make a difference in terms of being
too loose, but if you go down to the closest smaller size you may find the helmet uncomfortable to wear.
So go ahead and find that perfect ladies
motorcycle helmetfor you. Stay safe, make your statement, enjoy the open road and
keep on riding!
